Annulment Writing Workshops & Seminars

The Annulment Ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans offers both workshop series and one-night seminars throughout the year for persons wishing to apply for an annulment to a marriage, persons wishing to respond to an annulment, and/or persons called as witnesses* in an annulment case.  

The goal of the workshop or seminar is to encourage healing, as well as a more efficient annulment process, by walking with those involved in a case and assisting in the preparation of the necessary documents. 

Workshops and Seminars will be conducted by lay ministers and clergy who work with the Tribunal and/or who have been through the annulment process. They will share their experiences with you in order to give you guidance as to how to write your story. They will pray for you silently while you write your story and they will be available to you to talk or answer questions after you write at each session. 

*The final session of the Annulment Writing Workshop will discuss the role/requirements of the Witnesses. Witnesses are invited, but not required to attend, and do not need to register/pay.

The Annulment Writing Workshop will offer to you a series of weekly gatherings in a quiet setting free from distraction, the companionship of others navigating the same process and experiencing similar emotions, and the ministry of those who have been through the process and can offer compassion and understanding. 

Workshop sessions will cover the following writing topics: 

• Introduction to the annulment process
• Your life before marriage
• The former spouse's life before marriage
• The engagement, wedding day, and honeymoon
• Your life together as a married couple

Annulment Writing Seminars offer an overview of the process. They are one night, FREE & open to those seeking more information on having their previous marriage(s) annulled.  Members of the Annulment Ministry will be available at the end of the session to answer your personal case questions on a one-on-one basis.
